Changes and New Features in OpenFreezer Version 2
This version of OpenFreezer boasts several important additions. First, features (e.g., promoters, origins of replication) are now mapped to a specific sequence on a reagent. These features are transferred to children provided an exact match of the sequence for that feature is transferred. Vector maps containing these features are also automatically generated. Second, vector sequence constitution has been improved by imposing more stringent criteria in parents. Previously, the insert sequence was automatically inserted into a vector with no confirmation that the insert in fact contained the cloning sites. Third, we have created a workflow from primer design to capture inserts and oligos generated by this module. Finally, both the reagent creation pages and detailed views for inserts and vectors have been redesigned to be more user-friendly and to accommodate the feature mapping.
